Can I use a voltage inverter/converter to run gas stove fan?

I have a gas fired stove which heats most of my house. Can I get a 12v dc-120v ac inverter/converter to hook up to my lawn mower battery to run this stove?

Sure. I have a gas fireplace that has an electric gas valve. My backup plan when electric power is lost is to move my external UPS batteries over to the fireplace, connect a 12vdc-120vac inverter, unplug the gas control valve system from the wall receptacle (120vac), and plug it into the inverter. The valve takes only a few watts, so the system will run a long time. If needed, I can connect the inverter instead to my automobile battery and use a 120vac extension cord to reach the fireplace. The battery can be recharged by the engine occasionally.

I’ve tried it and it works. But power is so reliable around here that I’ve never had to use the backup method for real.

What is the best configuration of home theater audio for a 200 square foot room and play movies, music and karaoke?

I have a room of 200-215 square feet of retail and I am for setting up a home theater audio. I have plans to buy: 1) amplifier / receiver 2) DVD Player 3) I am looking for 5.1 speaker system that is capable of playing movies in high definition surround sound and karaoke. So far I am considering Samsung, Sony and Bose. But I'm not sure if they are able to karaoke. Any advice on how to create a home theater so big?

Hey, looks like you have high expectations … especially need a good Karaoke system. For HT – is easy, since many of the systems do a good job. But what is this — a demanding task Karaoke any HT system – at least to do well, is a difficult task. IMO, any of the Bose speakers online consumers will not be enough – especially for music and karaoke – that the size of the surface. My best suggestion is to look at the Klipsch Reference series speakers: towers. I know you can not think that the towers of the most wonderful to complement a room – but for the size of your room and the need to do Karaoke – I was with them. Reference62: http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/rf-62-overview/ the reference series is very efficient speakers – who handle a lot of energy … while they are strong but also accurate when you turn it + I think provided voices sound very hot … but these series of reference can be costly. You can also check the Synergy series – which is at a better price. Klipsch also makes shelf style: check these out: http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/rb-81-overview/ … then of course need a decent receiver. I stay with a medium level Yamaha or Onkyo. DVD Player: – Samsung: http://www.samsung.com/in/consumer/tv-audio-video/dvd-player/standard-dvd-player/DVD- P192/XTL/index.idx? prd_detail and ReturnUrl pageType = = Good Luck! Hope this helps:)

How to reattach a connection to a logic board.?

I have to connection with 4 pins in one row. Two came out. How can I reattach these? Is it ok to be carefull and solder on PCB board?

It’s possible but may be difficult. The hardest thing, if they are square pins, is to get the flat sides aligned with the other pins. Round pins are easier.

The pins either came pre-installed on a plastic header that holds them in position while soldering, or they were staked into the circuit board. If they were in a plastic header, again things are not too hard. Just push them back through the plastic and solder.

If there is no plastic, it means the pins were “staked”, which means they were pressed through a force fit PCB hole. It will be a little difficult to force back through the hole without bending the pin.

If all else fails, most pin headers come in standard confingurations, and replacements are not that hard to find.

Why is it desirable that the ammeter terminals be made of heavy metal and gave birth to the voltmeter terminals tend to be much lighter and well insulated?

Portions of the area and volume and to reduce the resistance of the conductor, giving the current "soft" path to flow in. Do not want to introduce some resistance on the road would reduce the Current natural flow that is trying to measure. current needs very little or nothing to be developed to measure a strain on all that matters is a good contact point a continuous conductor. ie device physics to determine its optimum form.
