Blue and white porcelain of China has always been a favorite of collectors, but we have to go to China's long history to find the start of the popularity of blue and white. It was as early as the 9th century, when the first or, prototype blue and white was fired during the Tang Dynasty. But we have to move quickly in the early 14 when the production of fine translucent blue and white porcelain began in the imperial kilns in Jingdezhen. Jingdezhen sometimes known as the porcelain capital of China, though at the moment and for the next 300 years, which actually was the porcelain capital of the world, as it was not until the early 18th century which became china experiment conducted in Saxony.

Persia was originally the "Persian Blue" to manufacturers of china, was, of course, cobalt oxide, that put the blue in blue and white! Cobalt was one of the traded products valuable along the famous Silk Road and was of such importance to the Chinese that are traded for bolts of silk.

The great European love affair with Chinese blue and white, was initiated by the Portuguese in the 16th century. She eventually was taken by the Dutch, which were large shippers of Chinese ceramics to the West. The love story still retains its passion with blue and white is still as popular as ever.

The interior lighting is a more important element in the decoration and can influence the "mood" of a room in a variety of ways, for example, soft romantic lighting.
